In other news the links page is now operational so get filling it. Follow the link at the bottom of the links page to submit a link. And it doesn't matter if you don't think there's a category for it yet, we'll add whatever new categories we need.

So - any links even vaguely related to games and their creation, please - the more the merrier :)

Nice work there Ferret. I was wondering if you perhaps could mention the name of owner of the worklog a bit more. Especially in the 'last 5 worklogs' section, and not to forget when you are inside a worklog. I keep forgetting of whom I was reading the worklog again.

And could you please turn the order of comments upside down? Like, in chronological order? Else one can't read it when people reply on each other.

Perfectly fine with me.

If you think it makes it too long then you could always change "Name's worklog" to "by Name" or something.

Since it was also a bit hard to navigate, and the whloe "getting lost thing" is a bit worrying I've added a breadcrumb trail to the pages.

Ah that's good, now I am totally aware of where I am and what I was doing again. Anyone saw the movie Memento?

And now something different: in the menu, could we perhaps swap Links and Worklogs? Worklogs are more updated and a bit more important in my opinion.

Why not use the existing comment style for the worklog/link comments?

I like it, I tried to test it a little (see my worklog for the things I've found), but it seems quite solid...

Quoting Woody:

You mean make it look like how the game gallery is?

Frim said he was gonna change that anyway becasue ho thought there was too many groovyboxes.

Woody has a point. I must say that personally I like that other style better because it's easier on the eye and very clearly shows the difference between an entry and a comment.

And I see that I missed Frim's reply in this thread. Good work Frimkron! The link section is looking good. But is there any order in which the categories are put there? I think links to game creation software are more important than for example 'humour'. And perhaps the name 'software' should be changed to 'game creation software' or something.

And something else: I noticed there is some cross module linking going on with the approval sections. Like the gallery comments and the link comments are both under 'gallery comments'. Or newly added links and game uploads, those are both under uploads. Except for confusing me, doesn't this create dependencies?

When I updated the gallery I changed the comment admin to be its own module for handling comments from all the other gallery modules as well. And the upload module is for handling all types of uploaded file (and it was just easier to include links in that as well)

Yes it does create dependencies, but we've decided that these modules aren't going to be used for anything else in all likelyhood so its not important for them to be completely seperable. Besides, they check that the right modules are there before they try and use them. For example if the comment admin module isn't present it simply won't link to it from the galleries.

As for the link category ordering, they're in alpha order at the moment but if we really need to be able to define a different order I'll add that feature eventually.

Edit - actually they're not in alpha order are they haha. I'll fix that.

I supose you do know that I can't approve links then... (which is fine with me, as long as it's suposed to be this way)

Ok.

And alpha order as in ' alphabetical' ? =/ Because it doesn't look very alphabetical to me.

Edit: read your edit. ok. :D
