On Thursday 1st June, RetroRemakes (www.retroremakes.com) will be holding another remakes competition.

Whilst the full rules aren't out yet, I expect them to be similar to past compos - meaning remaking an old 8/16 bit game for Windows based pcs, in any language you choose.

Prizes announced so far include a GP2X, dual stick X-Arcade controllers, SmartNAV head-trackers(?), loads of software (including a commercial software title for every valid entry). Apparently first prize will be worth around £1000!!!!

It's be great to see some of your games in the comp, so come on, dive in!

Hm, big prizes are always fun. I wonder how long this competition is going to run, is this the kind of competition that runs for months or that only takes about a week?

Last times it was for somewhere between 6 to 8 weeks I think. Ian did Ghouls 'n Ghosts for the one two(?) years ago. You remember that Rincewind.

No.

I am a judge in this competition, and know exactly what's going on and how long the comp lasts, but I'm not saying anything further until the rules are released.

Good luck to everyone :)

I have exams monday - thursday next week, and then an exam the week after that. And by that time it'll be too late to create anything worth while.

Plus I was only drawn in by the prospect of a free game for entry :P
