I think Russia improved a lot. Not an exciting game by any means... as a matter of fact so forgettable that I've already forgotten everything about it. When Algeria walked on the field I got terror sweats, as I had totally forgotten about the Algerian christmas tree when I placed my bet. Luckily enough, this was an entirely different Algeria - perhaps because they changed 5 players from their opening line-up. Skillful with the ball, played well together and scored! The koreans played alright, but physically so much less and not as skillful with the ball. At times it even looked like they literally lost the ball. "Where did it go?" Albeit it's a commonly known fact that Portugal brings manhood, variation and what is known as 'male power' to the field, it just wasn't enough. They got plenty of fast legs and their passes can shred defenses but overall something is just missing. Maybe it's best described when at 90 minute they were one behind and attacking with 5 men in an offside position. It wasn't because they were so eager to attack but because were just too lazy to come out off it. Where's the willpower? And talking about skill, who's this Eder-fella? He's not very good with the ball and not very good at finishing but he's still Portugal's striker. Surely they have something better than a meatbag available. A bit harsh maybe, I'm sure he's a nice chap. USA was quite defensive again it almost paid off big time again. It's surprising how easily USA was able to get past Portugal's defense with a couple of 1-2 passes. The group will have a cliffhanger last round, as each team still has a change. Will Spain redeem itself? I think I just saw in news that Del Bosque sent Fabregas out of training. A little discrepancy inside the team maybe? Would be a bit awesome to see an upside down result :s Chile has been very good but one just can't bet against the dtuch and they can take this unless they go full european i.e. sink. Both teams have already qualified for the knockout stage but a win does still matter, as the loser takes Brazil and winner will have either Mexico or Croatia, unless Cameroon is able to surprise Brazil. But Cameroon is a mess. Mexico - Croatia's result is best left to a coin. ____________ gay |

Ohmy, I atleast kind of forgot that even a bore draw would be enough for Dtuchland to dodge Brazil. That's exactly what happened, though I kept thinking this isn't really what Dtuchland is good at, absolute defense, but in the end it worked out kind of tremendously. Atleast result-wise. Let's hope they ditch this tactic in the future though. Just defending and throwing long passes makes a terrible watch. Also: horrible dives from both teams. Brazil started the match very well and unlucky or poor finishing kept the scores down. I don't think Hulk played his best match ever. Nevertheless, Brazil's got width and Neymar delivered an absolutely fantastic performance. Brazil's defense still looks a bit hazy. Only eight group stage matches left now and he's still at 0 points. Tuesday 24.6 Costa Rica 2 - 1 England Italy 2 - 3 Uruguay Greece 0 - 1 Ivory Coast Japan 1 - 3 Colombia Englad can go all out and just play as they're out of the tournament already. Let's hope they do so. Costa Rica is probably looking for a draw, though even by losing they are looking pretty good to win the group. Italy - Uruguay is the important match as loser goes home. A draw would be enough for Italy but Uruguay has form. Colombia is through but everyone has a change still. Japan and Greece need a win, though Greece's goal difference is so poor that they'll also need a lot of goals happening this round. Looks pretty straight forward to me. But will it be that this time? Didn't watch England's game but 0-0? England made a grand total of two goals in three games... yeah, go home England. Italy had things pretty well going for it -a bore draw that is- until Marchisio lost it and got a red card. Red card is always a major event and aren't given lightly, but I think he deserved it. He was out to harm. Props to Uruguay's coach for responding swiftly and going all in. After Uruguay scored it was Italy's turn to go all in(one man down) and it might had paid off, if it wasn't for the absolutely rubbish passing. Uruguay also got a few chances to finish the game but they were worthless. I mean, at worst they had a 3-1 attack that didn't even result a shot at goal. I wonder if Suarez is going to get a penalty for trying to eat Chiellini. I mean what the hell?? It was comical. Didn't see Greece's game but the one time I don't believe in them, they go and do it. Now they're through to knockout stage? :s Didn't really see Colombia's game either as I was making some delicous tacos and eating and making some more tacos and eating them as well and yeah, that just kept going. On the second half Colombia was on fire, just running circles around Japan. I think they have a fair change of dropping Uruguay out. Wednesday 25.6 Nigeria 0 - 2 Argentina Bosnia & Herzegovina 1 - 0 Iran Honduras 1 - 2 Switzerland Ecuador 1 - 3 France What an uninteresting match day. Will Argentina finally shine or is still that... shit. Iran's defensive wall against -one might I say unlucky- B&H. Then there's Switzerland's goalscoring problems. One interesting match though: Ecuador - France. France is the only european team that has played 2/2 good matches so far, but can they keep it up? That I'm gonna watch. ____________ gay |

Well, Argentina is through by winning all of their games but I don't recall them playing particularly well in any of them. This game against Nigeria was no exception. All the parts of the field are disconnect from each other; I mean how many times was Messi just wandering somewhere up when he should had helped middlefield or even pressing/defending when they lost ball up? Or maybe he's exhausted as he was taken off the field after 60 minutes. Great freekicks thought. But it's not just Messi, it's pretty much everybody. Not a great team. Or maybe they're just so good that they don't need to put an effort yet? Ohmy. So, France decided to go in with their B-squad. In terms of teamwork France is lightyears ahead of Argentina. It's totally different to watch as even Benzema changed from attack to defense in a microsecond. I timed. Beginning of second half Ecuador got a red card -unlike Italy, an accidental one- and funnily enough Ecuador's game improved after that. Even then Ecuador couldn't really match France and almost the whole game was played on Ecuador's half but unfortunately for France, they couldn't really break Ecuador's heavy defense to good scoring opportunities. France had 17 shots, of which 8 failed totally and 9 went directly towards the goalkeeper. USA! USA! 1 - 3 Germany Algeria 2 - 0 Mother Russia Korean Republic 0 - 1 Belgium Damn it, Portugal - Ghana and USA - Germany are played at the same time. What idiots set this up? I do get it a bit. Portugal needs to play all on attack, as they need to win and win big if they want to have any kind of change. USA was able to get through Ghana's defense quite easily with a few 1-2 passes and Portugal is even better at that. As long as they have the right attitude. Ghana's goalkeeper isn't confidence inspiring either. I almost wish I could bet against Ghana. For both USA and Germany a draw would be enough. USA could even win the group by winning Germany, but that wouldn't be very german-like. Wait what german-like? USA's coach is german pwn. Might record this game and watch it instead tonight. Neither team in any of Russia's games have scored more than once but then again, I'm pretty confident that if we see the same Algeria that played against Korea, stuff is going to happen. Hopefully fireworks! ____________ gay |
